WP Cross Country League - Broadlands (4th league) 2019 Results

Last Sunday 14 July, Lwandle AC proved that although they may be a young club, they were more than capable hosts for #WPACC2019 League 4, held at the stunning new venue, Broadlands Stud Farm in Somerset West. The picturesque setting and once again perfect clear weather conditions provided plenty of photo opportunities, even for those who wanted to take a selfie with one of the cows, and a great day out for the hundreds of runners and spectators who made a day-trip of the event. The athletes all loved the challenging but exciting route and competition at the front was fierce! In the Girls U20 6km Athemba Nqumashe of Bottelary managed another win, pulling away from the early leader Kia Gibbs and the ever-present Caitlyn Schlehmeyer. Oliver Stewart was on a mission in the Boys U20 8km, taking off from the gun, but he was overhauled by eventual winner Carlo Flink of Itheko, who crossed the line in 24:26.
